School Based Counseling

School Based Counseling is a service provided to students who may be experiencing social and emotional concerns. Brookside School has a licensed Social Worker who provides advice and treatment to children with or without special educational needs. The child is continually assessed and monitored in the school setting. School based therapists work to build trust and rapport with the student, family, school and community. The therapist also works to support mental health needs and promoting resiliency with each individual student and fostering connections and systems of supports. A child may receive school-based counseling in an individual or group session or due to a crisis intervention and staff consultation.
