Admission Information

Students are referred to The Brookside School by their local school district Committee on Preschool Special Education for 3 and 4 year old children and by the Committee on Special Education for children five years of age or older. When Brookside receives a referral, we ask the district to share the student’s evaluation information and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to help make a determination that we believe we are able to serve the child appropriately. We contact the parent and suggest that they might like to come and see the program to assure that they are comfortable with the referral and to also see the child in person as part of our determination in accepting the child.

If it is determined that the child will be attending Brookside, a packet is given to the family to complete and return to Brookside prior to the child starting school. The County transportation form must be sent to the County as soon as possible if bus transportation is being requested. Parents may choose to transport their child and be reimbursed for mileage by the County.
